How to buy car insurance with us
Tell us about your car
Choose third-party or comprehensive, then answer a few questions: the vehicle type, the seats, and the car's value if you want comprehensive.
Pick your insurer
See a price from each insurer, one total each, and choose the one you want.
Share the car's details
We ask for what the insurer needs to issue the policy: registration, chassis number and the owner's name.
Confirm your number and pay
We confirm your WhatsApp number with a code so the certificate goes to the right person, then you pay by mobile money or bank transfer.
Have these ready
The insurer needs a few details to issue your policy. Most of them are on your vehicle registration documents. A photo of the documents is fine.
- Registration number
- Chassis number (VIN)
- Make, model and year
- Number of seats
- Owner's full name, as it should appear on the certificate
- The date you want cover to start
- The car's current value (comprehensive only)
Car insurance questions, answered
What's the difference between third-party and comprehensive insurance?
Third-party pays for damage you cause to other people, their cars and their property. It does not pay to repair or replace your own car. Comprehensive covers all of that and your own car as well, for example after an accident, a fire or a theft.
Is third-party insurance compulsory in Ghana?
Yes. Under the Motor Vehicles (Third Party Insurance) Act, every vehicle on Ghana's roads must have at least third-party cover. Motor insurance is regulated by the National Insurance Commission (NIC). Comprehensive is optional, but it's the only cover that protects your own car.
How much is third-party or comprehensive insurance in Ghana?
Third-party is priced by vehicle type, with a small charge for each seat above five. Comprehensive adds a percentage of your car's value on top of that. Answer a few questions about your car and we'll show you one all-in price from each insurer.
How long does the cover last?
Policies run for 12 months from the start date you choose. When yours is about to end, start a new quote here or message our team.
How long until I get my certificate?
We submit your policy as soon as your payment lands. Once the insurer approves it, usually within a few working hours, we send the certificate to your WhatsApp. If you pay outside working hours, we'll tell you when to expect it.
How do I pay?
By mobile money or bank transfer. You'll see the payment details as soon as you've chosen your insurer.
What if the insurer declines my application?
It's rare. If it happens, our team will contact you to sort it out, either with another insurer or with a refund.
